Part of the Professional Wealth & Risk Management role is aiding clients in the processes of comprehensive retirement, estate and tax planning services. We have become an integral component of our client’s advisory group that includes their Accountants and Lawyers. Often the most entrepreneurial of the group, our contributions are not compensated until completion of a defined benefit for the client.
An initial investment of time with prospective clients is required to uncover their short and long term goals and objectives. Our clients have empowered us to help reverse engineer and employ their plan intended to bring these goals and objective to fruition.
Transparency and confidentiality are two ingredients required for this process to be successful and symbiotic.

Business Planning & Development Advice
This is often led by Strategic planning work we do with small business clients, having helped many develop brand and demand, another indirect service for which a fee is not charged. Many small business owners see us as sitting on an unofficial board of directors, helping them make hard decisions around how to grow, manage their fixed costs and work through both the hard times and the successes that often follow.
Efficient Corporate Structure:
Establishing the proper structure for Operating Companies (the machine that makes the money), Holding Companies (the assets) and Trusts (efficient disposition) is paramount.
Shareholder Agreements & Funding:
Corporations are a separate entity that lives on forever, and a shareholder agreement is essential for the long-term viability of any business that has partners.
Strategic Planning & Budgets:
Measurement improves performance and proper financial forecasting and projections of both revenue and fixed costs are essential to ensure your business is in the black not red.
Marketing & Brand Strategies:
Business starts with Brand and Demand, better coined Marketing & Sales as typically marketing comes first as people cannot buy what they cannot see, and without sales or demand you have nothing.
Negotiating:
Partnerships, Buyouts & Compensation packages. People build businesses not products and therefore investing in the right people is essential. This has to be a symbiotic relationship that benefits both parties if you don’t want your business to be a revolving door of lost talent.

Todd MacKenzie – Director
Born and raised in Victoria, Todd attended the University of Victoria before entering the Financial Service industry in 1996 with Laurentian Bank. Much of Todd’s early knowledge and experience was acquired while employed at Manulife Financial & Securities, working alongside some of Victoria’s most qualified Financial Planners.
In 2001 Todd officially became an Independent Broker working directly for his client, not representing any one individual Insurer or Investment provider. Since that time he has been involved in working with several start-ups and many well established Businesses and Owners.
Complemented by a strong and diverse business background of his own, Todd offers 23 years of practical experience in the Financial Service Industry. The tuition fee of Todd’s own entrepreneurial endeavours has brought additional acquired experience that could not be learned in a book. While this education has at times been expensive, it is his firsthand experience that has made him an asset in helping many families and small business clients alike; through both the good and more importantly harder times.
Whether he is working with individuals, families, professionals or business owners, Todd prides himself on the quality of service and understanding he provides in properly accessing and managing each client’s unique insurance and investment needs. Todd also strives for a work-life balance with an active lifestyle of his own.
